Built in 2008, the Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations (HMPN) offers an exceptional concept inspired by First Nations culture and its relationship with the rest of the world: nature, spirituality and mythology. This boutique hotel features 79 rooms and suites, as well as several function rooms that can accommodate over 200 people. It’s the ideal place to celebrate weddings, conventions and special events in an authentic natural setting. Seven of Quebec’s eleven Nations are represented on staff. The Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations is 100% First Nations-owned.
In addition to offering 4-star service, you can enjoy innovative cuisine in its restaurant, featuring hunting, fishing and gathering products and herbs from the boreal forest, as well as First Nations-inspired dishes created by Michelin-starred chef Marc de Passorio. La Traite invites you to come and enjoy a gastronomic experience that will introduce your senses to unique textures and flavours.
The hotel is also home to the Huron-Wendat Museum, which presents all facets of Huron-Wendat culture through its permanent exhibition Territoires, Mémoires, Savoirs. You can also discover the cultures of other nations through temporary exhibitions, or learn more about Huron-Wendat culture in the traditional Ekionkiestha longhouse.
The Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations is in the process of completing a $13 million rejuvenation, including the construction of a new wing, the creation of 24 rooms and suites, modernization of the three-storey glass roof overlooking the Akiawenrahk River, new meeting rooms, modernization of the exterior landscaping and the La Traite restaurant. Rooms and suites also feature new decor and furnishings to reflect their elegant, traditional character.
