Hôtel Gault, located at 449 Sainte-Hélène Street in the heart of Old Montreal, occupies a stunning greystone building dating back to 1871, once owned by Andrew Frederick Gault, known as the “Cotton King” of Canada. Since its opening as a boutique hotel in 2001, it has become a sought-after address that elegantly combines historic charm with minimalist contemporary design.

In 2025, the lobby was completely redesigned by Montreal-based firm YH2 Architecture, which preserved Second Empire elements—vaulted ceilings, metal details, stone floors—while introducing warm wood finishes and furniture by CAB Déco and Montauk. This transformation earned the hotel prestigious recognition with a Gold certification at the Grands Prix du Design.

Hôtel Gault offers 30 unique suites: lofts, terrace suites, and apartments ranging from 32 to 95 m². Each space is designed to provide residential comfort: queen or king Casa Rovea beds, large windows, bathrooms with heated floors, deep soaking tubs or walk-in showers, locally made Ruby Brown bath products, and 24-hour room service. Some units feature terraces overlooking the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal.

On the culinary side, Restaurant Gault welcomes guests for breakfast and brunch. The menu showcases European-inspired cuisine using Quebec products, complemented by creative cocktails and refined coffee selections.

For events, Hotel Gault offers four spaces, including the Library for intimate gatherings, the Frederick and Gault Rooms for private meetings, and the Lobby for receptions and celebrations. The latter can host up to 150 people in a cocktail setup.
